Melissa Garcia
Melissa (Mel) Garcia has consistently demonstrated her prowess both on and off the field throughout her athletic and academic career. In 2023, she played in 47 games with 45 starts in the outfield, hitting .277, scoring 15 runs, and driving in 12 RBIs, with standout performances including three hits in key victories over Cal State East Bay and Academy of Art. The previous year, Mel was an Academic All-PacWest recipient, playing in all 50 games and leading the team with 12 stolen bases, while tying a Dominican single-game record with four hits in a dramatic win over Holy Names. Her impressive high school tenure at Branham included being a four-year varsity starter, receiving second team all-league honors in 2018 and 2019, winning the Coach's Award twice, and being named Branham Senior Female Athlete of the Year in 2021. A dedicated scholar, Mel was a Scholar Athlete every year and received the Branham Booster's Scholarship.
